The Department of Homeland Security today announces a new chapter in the leadership of the United States Secret Service following the departure of former Director Valcorry, who has officially stepped down from his position. On behalf of the Department, I extend my sincere gratitude to Director Valcorry for his service, dedication, and contributions during his tenure, and I wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors.
Following this transition, I am pleased to announce the appointment of l_ongbow (formerly VastWRadford / Vast404) as the Director of the United States Secret Service.
Supporting the Director in this new era of leadership will be l_ongshot (formerly InspidPhantom), who has been appointed as Deputy Director, alongside bengalis, who assumes the role of Assistant Director.
This leadership team represents the Department's continued commitment to strengthening the United States Secret Service through capable leadership, professionalism, and a renewed focus on operational excellence.
The impact of this transition has already been evident. Since assuming command, the new leadership has overseen the recruitment and onboarding of more than 15 new Secret Service agents, significantly expanding the division's operational strength in a remarkably short period.
The increased activity has been impossible to ignore. During both the Cabinet Meeting held on 19 July 2026 and Military Day on 19 July 2026, the United States Secret Service demonstrated an exceptional level of operational readiness, consistently maintaining 13 or more agents on duty simultaneously. This level of sustained participation reflects the dedication of the division's leadership and the commitment of its newly expanded workforce.
These early achievements are only the beginning. The Department of Homeland Security remains committed to supporting the continued growth of the United States Secret Service while ensuring it remains one of the most active, professional, and effective divisions within the Department.
I have every confidence that Director l_ongbow, Deputy Director l_ongshot, and Assistant Director bengalis will continue building upon this momentum, fostering an environment of excellence, accountability, and service as they lead the United States Secret Service into its next chapter.
